The English Parliament

The English Parliament is the supreme legislative body in the United Kingdom, consisting of two houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The House of Commons is made up of Members of Parliament (MPs) who are elected by the public, while the House of Lords includes appointed members, such as bishops and life peers. Parliament is responsible for making and passing laws, debating national issues, and overseeing the government. It also represents the interests of the people and holds the government accountable. The monarch is also part of Parliament, but its powers are largely ceremonial today.
