Ostrogothic Kingdom

The Ostrogothic Kingdom was a Germanic state established in Italy during the late 5th and early 6th centuries, following the fall of the Western Roman Empire. It was founded by the Ostrogoths, a group of East Germanic tribes led by King Theodoric the Great. The kingdom is known for its efforts to preserve Roman culture and governance while integrating Germanic customs. Theodoric ruled from 493 to 526 AD, promoting relative stability and coexistence between Romans and Goths. The kingdom eventually fell to the Byzantine Empire in the mid-6th century during the Gothic Wars.
