Nicene Christianity
Nicene Christianity refers to the beliefs established by the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, which aimed to unify Christian doctrine. The Nicene Creed, a key outcome of the council, affirmed the divinity of Jesus Christ, stating that he is "begotten, not made" and "of one substance with the Father." This creed countered various interpretations of Christianity, particularly Arianism, which viewed Jesus as a created being. Nicene Christianity ultimately played a crucial role in defining mainstream Christian beliefs, influencing the faith’s development and its understanding of the nature of God and Christ throughout history.
