
Nanasaheb Peshwa
Nanasaheb Peshwa, born in 1820, was a prominent leader of the Maratha Empire in 19th century India. After the death of his father, Baji Rao II, he became a key figure in the resistance against British colonial rule. Following the British victory in the Anglo-Maratha Wars, he played a significant role during the 1857 rebellion, also known as India’s First War of Independence. Nanasaheb became a symbol of Maratha pride and resistance. His legacy is celebrated in Indian history for the fight against British domination and for his attempts to restore the authority of the Maratha Empire.
