Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao, commonly known as Nana Saheb, was a prominent leader of the Maratha Empire in the 18th century. Serving as Peshwa (Prime Minister) from 1740 to 1761, he was instrumental in expanding Maratha influence across India. Known for his military prowess and administrative skills, he played a key role in the Third Battle of Panipat (1761), despite the Marathas' defeat. Nana Saheb is also remembered for his legacy in promoting education and culture. After the decline of Maratha power, he became a significant figure during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, advocating for Indian independence.
