Mycenaean Civilization

The Mycenaean civilization flourished in Greece from approximately 1600 to 1100 BCE. Known for its impressive palaces, such as those in Mycenae and Pylos, it was characterized by a warrior culture, advanced trade networks, and early forms of writing, including Linear B. The Mycenaeans engaged in maritime trade and had extensive contact with other cultures, including the Minoans. Their society declined around 1100 BCE, leading to a period of uncertainty known as the Greek Dark Ages, but their cultural and architectural influence laid the groundwork for later Greek civilization and mythology.
