Minoan Civilization

The Minoan Civilization flourished on the island of Crete from around 2600 to 1100 BCE. Known for its advanced art, architecture, and trade networks, it features impressive palaces like Knossos, characterized by intricate frescoes and complex layouts. The Minoans developed a writing system called Linear A, which remains undeciphered. Their society was likely matriarchal, with evidence suggesting the worship of goddesses. Minoans traded extensively with neighboring cultures, influencing the development of later Greek civilizations. The civilization declined around 1450 BCE, possibly due to natural disasters or invasions, paving the way for the Mycenaean Greeks.
