Montepulciano

Montepulciano is a red wine grape variety primarily grown in Italy, especially in the Abruzzo region. It produces wines that are usually rich in flavor, with dark fruit notes like plum and blackberry, alongside earthy and spicy undertones. The wines are known for their soft tannins and balanced acidity, making them approachable and enjoyable at various stages of aging. Montepulciano can also refer to a picturesque hill town in Tuscany, famous for its Renaissance architecture and wine production, notably Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, which is made from a different grape called Sangiovese.
