Menkaure (Mykerinos)
Menkaure, also known as Mykerinos, was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty during the Old Kingdom, around 2500 BCE. He is best known for commissioning the third and smallest of the three famous pyramids at Giza, which are iconic symbols of ancient Egypt. Menkaure’s reign was marked by significant advancements in art and architecture, reflecting a time of prosperity. His pyramid, although smaller than those of Khufu and Khafre, featured intricate stonework and beautiful statues. Menkaure is also notable for his attempts to maintain the balance between the divine and earthly realms in his rule.
