Medieval Society
Medieval society, spanning roughly from the 5th to the 15th century, was structured around feudalism, where landowners (lords) granted land to vassals in exchange for military service. The majority were peasants or serfs who worked the land and were tied to it. The Church played a central role, influencing culture and daily life. Society was hierarchical, with kings at the top, followed by nobles, knights, clergy, and peasants. Despite challenges like wars and the Black Death, this era saw developments in agriculture, trade, and culture, paving the way for the Renaissance and modern Europe.
