Maya Calendar

The Maya calendar is a complex system used by the ancient Maya civilization in Mesoamerica. It consists of several interlocking cycles, the most important being the **Tzolk'in**, a 260-day sacred calendar with 13 cycles of 20 named days, and the **Haab'**, a 365-day solar calendar with 18 months of 20 days, plus a short month of 5 days. Additionally, the **Long Count** calendar tracks longer periods and historical events. Together, these calendars helped the Maya organize agricultural activities, religious ceremonies, and historical events, reflecting their deep understanding of astronomy and timekeeping.
