Haab'
The Haab' is the ancient Maya calendar system used for marking civil time, consisting of 365 days. It is composed of 18 months, each with 20 days, plus a short month called Wayeb' with 5 days, considered unlucky. The calendar was organized in a way that helped the Maya track seasonal cycles, agricultural activities, and festivals. The Haab' worked alongside the Tzolk'in calendar (a 260-day ritual cycle), and together they formed a larger cycle known as the Calendar Round, which repeats every 52 years. This system reflects the Maya's sophisticated understanding of astronomy and timekeeping.
