Louis XII of France

Louis XII of France, also known as the “Father of the People,” ruled from 1498 to 1515. He was notable for his efforts to improve the lives of his subjects by promoting justice and reducing taxes. Louis was a member of the Valois dynasty and succeeded Charles VIII. His reign saw military campaigns in Italy and the establishment of French influence there. Louis XII is remembered for his marriage to Anne of Brittany, which unified the duchy with France, and his commitment to legal reforms. After his death, he was succeeded by his cousin Francis I.
