Linear functions

A linear function is a relationship between two variables that creates a straight line when graphed. It can be expressed in the form y = mx + b, where 'y' is the output, 'x' is the input, 'm' represents the slope (how steep the line is), and 'b' is the y-intercept (the point where the line crosses the y-axis). Linear functions demonstrate constant rates of change; for every unit increase in x, y changes by a consistent amount. They are commonly used in various fields to model real-world situations, such as profit and cost calculations.
