Slope

Slope refers to the steepness or incline of a surface or line. In mathematics, it is calculated as the change in vertical position (rise) divided by the change in horizontal position (run) between two points. A positive slope means the line rises as you move right, while a negative slope means it descends. In everyday terms, you can think of a slope as how steep a hill is—steeper hills have a greater slope. Slope helps us understand trends in data, such as how quickly something is increasing or decreasing over time.
