Kebangkitan Nasional
Kebangkitan Nasional, or National Awakening, refers to a period in Indonesian history during the early 20th century when national consciousness and political awareness began to grow among the Indonesian people. It marked the rise of nationalist movements advocating for independence from Dutch colonial rule. Key figures, such as figures from the Budi Utomo organization and later Sarekat Islam, played significant roles in promoting education, cultural pride, and political activism. The movement laid the groundwork for Indonesia's eventual independence in 1945, as it fostered unity among diverse ethnic groups in the archipelago and inspired future generations to strive for sovereignty.
