James Parkinson

James Parkinson was an English physician and surgeon who lived from 1755 to 1824. He is best known for his pioneering work in the study of neurological disorders, particularly in describing what we now call Parkinson's disease, a movement disorder characterized by tremors and stiffness. In 1817, he published a significant essay titled "An Essay on the Shaking Palsy," where he detailed the symptoms and clinical features of the condition. His observations laid the groundwork for future research and understanding of the disease, which is named in his honor. Parkinson's contributions greatly advanced the field of neurology.
