Italian Resistance Movement
The Italian Resistance Movement was a group of diverse anti-fascist fighters in Italy during World War II, opposing Nazi occupation and Mussolini's fascist regime from 1943 to 1945. Comprised of communists, socialists, partisans, and ordinary citizens, they engaged in guerrilla warfare, sabotage, and propaganda. Their efforts contributed to the weakening of fascist control and the eventual liberation of Italy. The movement is celebrated for its bravery and dedication to democracy, influencing post-war Italian politics and society, and is commemorated annually in Italy on April 25, known as Liberation Day.
