Imperial China
Imperial China refers to the historical period in China when it was ruled by a series of dynasties, lasting from around 221 BC to the early 20th century. This era is marked by significant developments in government, culture, technology, and philosophy, including Confucianism and Daoism. Major dynasties include the Han, Tang, Song, Ming, and Qing, each contributing to advancements in arts, science, and trade. Imperial China is known for its vast bureaucracy, the Great Wall, and the Silk Road, which connected it to other civilizations. The imperial system ended in 1912 with the establishment of the Republic of China.
