Greenwashing is a deceptive marketing practice where companies exaggerate or falsely claim to be environmentally friendly to attract eco-conscious consumers. Instead of making meaningful sustainable changes, they may use misleading labels, vague statements, or selective information to promote a positive image. This creates the illusion of corporate responsibility while allowing them to avoid implementing genuine environmentally beneficial practices. As a result, consumers may inadvertently support businesses that do not truly prioritize sustainability, undermining efforts to combat environmental issues.
