Frustration of Purpose

Frustration of purpose occurs when an unforeseen event undermines the fundamental reason for a contract or agreement, making it impossible for one party to fulfill their original intent. For example, if a couple rents a venue for a wedding, but a natural disaster forces the venue to close, the primary purpose of the rental is frustrated. In such cases, the affected party may seek relief or termination of the contract, as the situation has fundamentally changed and they can no longer achieve what they originally intended.
