Fructose
Fructose is a simple sugar found naturally in many fruits, vegetables, and honey. It is one of the primary sugars in our diet, along with glucose. Often referred to as "fruit sugar," fructose is sweeter than glucose and is commonly used in processed foods and drinks in the form of high-fructose corn syrup. Unlike glucose, fructose is metabolized mainly in the liver, where it can be converted into energy or stored as fat. While it can be part of a healthy diet when consumed in moderation from natural sources, excessive intake, particularly from processed foods, can lead to health issues.
