Formation of England

During the High Middle Ages, England was shaped by the consolidation of various kingdoms and territories. Influential figures like William the Conqueror (after 1066) united much of England under Norman rule, establishing a centralized monarchy. Feudalism emerged, linking lords to vassals, which helped organize society. The power of the monarchy grew, but so did conflicts with nobility, setting the stage for the development of legal systems and Parliament.
