Erosion
Erosion is the natural process where soil and rock are gradually worn away and transported by forces such as water, wind, ice, or gravity. Over time, these forces remove the surface materials from one area and deposit them elsewhere, shaping landscapes and sometimes causing land degradation. Erosion can occur slowly, like soil gradually disappearing from a hill, or rapidly, such as during a flash flood. It plays a significant role in shaping ecosystems and landforms but can also pose challenges for agriculture, infrastructure, and environmental stability if it happens excessively.
