English Channel

The English Channel is a body of water that separates England from France. It is about 21 miles (34 kilometers) wide at its narrowest point, known as the Strait of Dover. The Channel connects the North Sea to the Atlantic Ocean and plays a vital role in trade and travel between the two countries. It is also historically significant, having been the site of many naval battles. Today, the Channel features the Channel Tunnel, an underwater rail system that links England and France, allowing for quick transportation of people and goods.
