Eurotunnel
Eurotunnel, also known as the Channel Tunnel, is a railway tunnel beneath the English Channel connecting the UK and France. Opened in 1994, it allows trains to transport passengers and vehicles between Folkestone in England and Calais in France. The tunnel is approximately 31 miles long, with about 23 miles underwater, making it the longest underwater tunnel in the world. Eurotunnel primarily operates the Eurostar passenger service, which provides a fast and convenient travel option, as well as the Eurotunnel Le Shuttle service for vehicles. It plays a significant role in improving transport links between the UK and mainland Europe.
