Dynamics

Dynamics is the branch of mechanics that studies how and why objects move. In Newtonian mechanics, it focuses on the forces acting on objects and how those forces affect their motion, such as speeding up or slowing down. In continuum mechanics, it examines how materials deform and flow under stress, like how a fluid moves or how a solid bends. Rigid body dynamics deals with solid objects that don’t deform, analyzing their movement and rotation. Essentially, dynamics helps us understand the relationship between forces and motion across various materials and conditions.
