Newton's First Law
Newton's First Law states that an object will remain at rest or continue moving in a straight line at a constant speed unless acted upon by an external force. This means that things don't just start or stop moving on their own; something needs to push or pull them to change their state. For example, a soccer ball will stay still until kicked, and it will keep rolling until friction or another object slows it down or stops it. Essentially, it highlights the importance of forces in affecting motion.
