Units of Force

Force is a push or pull that can change an object's motion. In the International System of Units (SI), force is measured in Newtons (N), where 1 Newton is the force needed to accelerate a 1-kilogram mass by 1 meter per second squared. Common examples include the force of gravity acting on an object, like a falling apple. Other units, like pounds-force (lbf), are used in different contexts, particularly in the United States. Understanding force helps explain how objects move, interact, and respond to different influences in our daily lives.
