DMZ (Demilitarized Zone)
A Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a designated area where military forces and equipment are prohibited. It serves as a buffer to prevent conflicts between opposing sides, allowing for peace and stability. Often established after wars or disputes, a DMZ aims to reduce tensions and provide a safe space for negotiation. The most famous example is the Korean DMZ, which separates North and South Korea. While no weapons are allowed in a DMZ, it often remains heavily monitored and patrolled to ensure that the peace is maintained and to deter any potential aggression.
