Military Armistice Commission
The Military Armistice Commission was a group established after the Korean War to oversee the ceasefire agreement between North and South Korea. Comprising military representatives from both sides, its role was to monitor the adherence to the armistice, address violations, and facilitate communication to maintain stability along the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). The commission aimed to prevent renewed conflict and ensure both sides followed the terms of the ceasefire, functioning as a peaceful, supervisory body in a tense and complex post-war environment.
