Diuretics

Diuretics, often referred to as "water pills," are medications that help the body eliminate excess fluid by increasing urine production. They are commonly used to treat conditions like high blood pressure, heart failure, and edema (swelling) caused by fluid buildup. By promoting the removal of sodium and water from the body, diuretics can help reduce blood volume and lower blood pressure. There are different types of diuretics, each working in different ways, but their main goal is to help manage fluid balance and reduce strain on the heart and other organs.
