
Digambara tradition
The Digambara tradition is one of the two main sects of Jainism, the other being Svetambara. Digambaras believe in strict asceticism, advocating that monks should renounce all possessions, including clothing, which symbolizes their rejection of worldly attachments. They emphasize the importance of self-discipline and spiritual purity. Digambaras also hold distinctive beliefs about the nature of the soul and the path to liberation, often differ in their scriptures and interpretations compared to Svetambaras.
