Dialysis Treatments

Dialysis is a medical treatment that helps filter waste, excess salt, and fluids from the blood when the kidneys can’t do their job properly. There are two main types: hemodialysis, where blood is pumped through a machine with a filter, and peritoneal dialysis, which uses the lining of the abdomen as a filter. Dialysis is usually required when someone has kidney failure due to disease or injury. It can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life, but it does not cure kidney disease. Patients often need dialysis several times a week, depending on their health needs.
