RRT (Renal Replacement Therapy)
Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) is a medical procedure used when the kidneys can’t effectively filter waste, excess fluids, and salts from the blood. It acts as an artificial substitute for kidney function. There are three main types: dialysis (which uses a machine or a filter to clean the blood), hemofiltration, and kidney transplantation. RRT helps maintain proper blood chemistry, fluid balance, and prevents toxins buildup, ensuring the body's vital functions continue smoothly when the kidneys fail due to illness or injury.
