Home Dialysis
Home dialysis is a treatment for kidney failure that allows patients to perform dialysis in the comfort of their own home. Unlike traditional in-center dialysis, which usually takes place three times a week at a clinic, home dialysis can be done more frequently and at a time that suits the patient’s lifestyle. There are two main types: peritoneal dialysis, which uses the lining of the abdomen to filter waste, and hemodialysis, which uses a machine to clean the blood. Home dialysis offers flexibility, independence, and can lead to a better quality of life for many patients.
