Complex PTSD

Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) is a mental health condition that arises from prolonged exposure to traumatic events, such as ongoing abuse or neglect. Unlike standard PTSD, which can result from a single traumatic incident, C-PTSD involves deeper emotional difficulties due to repeated harm. Symptoms include intense feelings of hopelessness, difficulties in relationships, persistent negative self-view, and trouble regulating emotions. Individuals with C-PTSD may also experience flashbacks, anxiety, and depression. Treatment often involves therapy focused on processing the trauma and developing coping strategies, facilitating healing and improving overall well-being.
