comets
Comets are icy celestial objects that travel through space, usually with elongated, elliptical orbits around the Sun. When they approach the Sun, heat causes their ice to vaporize, creating a glowing coma (a fuzzy atmosphere) and often a tail that points away from the Sun due to solar wind. Comets originate mainly from two regions: the Kuiper Belt, beyond Neptune, and the Oort Cloud, a distant sphere of icy bodies surrounding our solar system. Their dramatic appearances can inspire awe and curiosity, embodying the dynamic nature of our cosmic environment.
