Deep Impact Mission

The Deep Impact mission was a space exploration project launched by NASA in 2005 to study a comet called Tempel 1. The spacecraft intentionally collided with the comet at high speed, creating a crater and ejecting material into space. This impact allowed scientists to analyze the debris and gain insights into the comet's interior composition and structure. The mission helped improve our understanding of comets' building blocks and the early history of our solar system, acting like a scientific experiment to peer beneath the surface of these ancient cosmic travelers.
