Kuiper Belt

The Kuiper Belt is a region in space beyond Neptune, filled with icy objects, rock, and remnants from the early solar system. It extends roughly from 30 to 55 astronomical units (AU) from the Sun and contains thousands of small bodies, including dwarf planets like Pluto. These objects are remnants of the solar system’s formation, and their study helps scientists understand its history. The Kuiper Belt is similar to the asteroid belt but is much larger and composed mainly of icy bodies. It also serves as a source for some short-period comets that occasionally enter the inner solar system.
