Coagulation tests
Coagulation tests are medical tests that measure how well and how quickly your blood clots. These tests help doctors assess your risk of bleeding or forming harmful blood clots. When you get a cut, your body forms a clot to stop the bleeding, and these tests evaluate the effectiveness of this process. Common coagulation tests include prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT). The results guide doctors in diagnosing conditions like hemophilia or monitoring patients on blood-thinning medications.
