Challah

Challah is a traditional Jewish bread, typically braided and served during the Sabbath and holidays. It is made from simple ingredients like flour, water, yeast, sugar, and eggs, which gives it a slightly sweet flavor and a soft, airy texture. The braiding symbolizes unity and the intertwining of lives. Challah is often enriched with additional ingredients, such as honey or raisins, for added sweetness. Before eating, a portion of the dough is traditionally separated and set aside, a practice known as "separating challah," which holds spiritual significance in Jewish customs.
