Bronze Age in the Americas
The Bronze Age typically refers to a period characterized by the use of bronze for tools and weapons, along with advances in social organization and trade. In the Americas, however, this term is somewhat misleading, as most civilizations, like the Maya and Aztecs, did not widely use bronze. Instead, they relied on materials such as stone, copper, and gold. These cultures developed sophisticated societies, monumental architecture, and extensive trade networks. Their achievements occurred during a time that parallels the Bronze Age in the Old World, but with distinct technological paths and cultural developments.
