Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion

Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (BRVO) occurs when one of the small veins in the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, becomes blocked. This blockage can cause fluid to leak, leading to swelling and bleeding in the surrounding area. Symptoms may include blurred or distorted vision. BRVO is often linked to factors like hypertension or diabetes. While it can sometimes resolve on its own, treatment options like laser therapy or injections may help reduce complications and improve vision. Regular eye check-ups are important for prevention and early detection of eye issues.
