Benito Mussolini
Benito Mussolini was an Italian politician and journalist who led Italy as a dictator from 1922 until 1943. He founded the National Fascist Party and is known for creating a totalitarian regime characterized by authoritarianism, nationalism, and militarism. Mussolini promoted aggressive expansionist policies and aligned Italy with Nazi Germany during World War II. His regime suppressed opposition and used propaganda to maintain control. In 1943, he was ousted from power but was later captured and executed by partisans in 1945. Mussolini's legacy remains controversial, representing both the allure and dangers of fascism.
