Tripartite Pact

The Tripartite Pact, signed in 1940, was a military alliance between Germany, Italy, and Japan during World War II. The pact formalized their cooperation against the Allies, which included the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union. In essence, the three countries agreed to support each other if one was attacked, aiming to deter American intervention and expand their influence. The alliance reflected the Axis powers' shared goals of territorial expansion and dominance. However, the pact ultimately failed to achieve its objectives, especially as the Allies began to gain the upper hand in the war.
