Battle of Ipsus
The Battle of Ipsus took place in 301 BCE and was a decisive conflict during the Wars of the Diadochi, which followed the death of Alexander the Great. It pitted the forces of Antigonus I, a leading general of Alexander, against a coalition of his rivals, including Lysimachus and Seleucus. The battle occurred in Phrygia (in modern-day Turkey) and resulted in Antigonus's defeat and death. This outcome significantly reshaped the power dynamics of the Hellenistic world, leading to the rise of the Seleucid Empire and further division among Alexander's former territories.
