Battle of Aegospotami

The Battle of Aegospotami, fought in 405 BC during the Peloponnesian War, was a decisive naval confrontation between the Athenian fleet and the Spartan navy. The Spartans, led by Lysander, took advantage of a lack of vigilance by the Athenians, who were anchored at Aegospotami near the Hellespont.
