Bagram Air Base
Bagram Air Base is a critical military installation located in Afghanistan, about 11 miles northeast of Kabul. Originally used by the Soviet Union in the 1970s, it was taken over by the United States following the 2001 invasion to combat terrorism. Throughout the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan, Bagram served as a key hub for air operations, logistics, and support. It provided a strategic location for launching missions and maintaining security in the region. The base has been integral in training Afghan forces and facilitating humanitarian efforts, marking its significance in international military and diplomatic efforts in the country.
