Aztec Calendar

The Aztec Calendar, also known as the Tonalpohualli, is a sophisticated system used by the Aztec civilization to track time and religious ceremonies. It consists of 260 days divided into 20 periods of 13 days each, known as trecena. Additionally, the Aztecs had a 365-day solar calendar called the Xiuhpohualli, organized into 18 months of 20 days, plus an extra 5 days considered unlucky. Together, these calendars formed a complex framework for both agricultural activities and spiritual life, reflecting the Aztecs' deep connection to the cosmos, seasons, and their deities.
